Energy Efficiency

There are some tell-tale signs that a roof needs to be replaced.  Start by looking for any damage to your roof such as broken shingles or damaged flashing.  Also, look for signs of algae growth or rot, as that may indicate a more serious problem.  This is common under over-hanging trees where moisture often accumulates.  The roof may also show warning signs like:  curling, buckling or blistering, each of which should be repaired as soon as possible.  If these conditions are not addressed they can cause serious problems over time. 

If the roof hasn't been replaced in a long time then more serious structural damage may occur, if it hasn't already. Due to the fact that we live in a snowy climate, this damage could lead to a cave-in during the winter.  Put simply, when the safety of your family is at risk, its time to get a new roof.
